I've just been thumbing through a new Beadwork magazine publication called Easy Wire.  It has many wonderful projects in it, and those of you who have taken the Mini Basics class are capable of doing many of them.  You also have the basis of knowledge you need to understand the well illustrated instructions.  We have only a few copies, so grab yours soon!

Those of you who are interested in going a step further in wire work, we are running a Wire Work Workshop twice this Fall:  October 13, and again on November 17.  In this 3-1/2 hour workshop you'll learn how to make your own earwires, clasps, and more.  Get more information on the Workshop page of our website, www.beadersparadise.biz.

New Colors from Swarovski & Coral Beads!

Happy June!

Just in time for making thank-you gifts for those special teachers in your (or your child's) life: We have new colors from Swarovski in the 4mm bicone crystal shape - Mint Alabaster AB, Dark Red Coral, Dark Red Coral AB, and Rosewater Opal.

Additionally, Judi just returned from Albuquerque with wonderful coral in many shapes and colors, available by the piece and by the strand. Coral is amazing when combined with turquoise and mother of pearl, both of which we have in abundance!

We also have some unique carved stone and painted shell disc pendants that are worth taking a look at.

So, come visit us! We'll help with any design questions you might have and you'll leave the shop with beautiful jewelry for yourself or for a much- admired present.

See you soon! --Alison

The Crystal Queen

Some of you are probably wondering what that gorgeous tassled item is in the photo in the left column (scroll down a little). That is an evening bag made of Swarovski crystals (more than 6,000 of them) by Janet, our primary blogger here. She entered it into the 2006 Swarovski "Create Your Style" contest. Entries for the contest are received from all over the world in three categories: professional, amateur and student. Janet's was one of 20 pieces chosen as a semi-finalist in the professional category. Some of you may have been lucky enough to see her working on it in the store. It was a dazzler! Unfortunately, once entered in the contest the item becomes the property of Swarovski, so we will never see it again. However, you can frequently catch Janet working on another sparkly creation in the store, or you can sign up for her classes to learn some of her design ideas. Next up is a crystal medallion necklace workshop on May 5.

Today Janet came in with another new design - the gorgeous bracelet you see above. Any interest in getting her to teach a this next Fall?

If Janet is the Queen, she has spawned a crystal princess. Alison took a couple of workshops from Janet, and was off and beading, making variations on Janet's themes and soon coming up with great ideas of her own. Alison is taking a break from teaching this Spring, but look for some of her workshops as the year progresses!

Best wishes, Cindy.
